About

Polyclonals can be used for Western blot, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues. The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera.

Advisory

Avoid freeze/thaw cycles as they may denaturate the polypeptide chains of the antibody, thus reducing its reactivity, specificity and sensitivity. Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom.

GTDC1 (Glycosyltransferase-like domain-containing protein 1), also known as Mat-Xa, is a 458 amino acid protein belonging to the glycosyltransferase 1 family. GTDC1 is ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels found in peripheral blood leukocytes, spleen, lung and testis.An extremely rare recessive genetic disorder, Alstré°‰ syndrome, is caused by mutations in the ALMS1 gene, which maps to chromosome 2.
